Χθες ανακοινώθηκαν οι υποψηφιότητες για τα φετινά Όσκαρ, μέσω live stream από το YouTube της Αμερικανικής Ακαδημίας Κινηματογράφου, με παρουσιαστές τους διάσημους ηθοποιούς Tiffany Haddish και Andy Serkis, κατευθείαν από το Samuel Goldwyn Theater στο Μπέβερλι Χιλς. Τις περισσότερες υποψηφιότητες συγκεντρώνει η ταινία «The Shape of Water» του Guillermo del Toro με 13 υποψηφιότητες ενώ ακολουθούν τα «Dunkirk» του Christopher Nolan με 8 και «Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri» του Martin McDonagh με 7 υποψηφιότητες.  

Η τελετή απονομής θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Κυριακή 4 Μαρτίου στο Dolby Theatre του Λος Άντζελες, με οικοδεσπότη για δεύτερη συνεχόμενη  χρονιά τον τηλεοπτικό παρουσιαστή Jimmy Kimmel.
